To be completely honest, I uninstalled Baldur’s Gate 3 twice before the game finally clicked for me. At first, the overwhelming amount of systems, turn-based combat, and the feeling of being completely lost in the early levels almost beat me. To make matters worse, my first choice was a Bard a class that initially makes you feel more like a bystander than a hero. The game felt too punishing, overly complex, and the temptation to quit won twice. But everything changed when I hit Level 4. Everything got better: you learn superior spells and start to understand how the game actually works. I decided to respec my character into a Paladin, and later down the line, I made a Bard/Paladin multiclass. That's when the game truly hooked me. I had never played D&D before, I had only watched a few videos, but BG3 completely won me over with its turn-based mechanics. The open world is ridiculously good, incredibly rich in content and side quests. You can literally do anything and solve quests however you want. There is no "right way" to play: you can convince a boss to end themselves just through dialogue, push enemies off high cliffs, use the environment to turn the tides of battle, or

Baldur' Gate 3 has ruined other RPG's for me. The sheer depth of dialogue, gameplay and worldbuilding is nothing short of masterful. I wasn't sure of this game at first and had minimal experience with DND and the CRPG genre, but after 1000 hours I've been converted to a lifelong fan. The game runs great, never if at all did I have noticeable frame issues or stutter (outside of Barrelmancy nuclear warheads). I cant think of a time where a bug ruined my experience and the rare time they did occur they usually enhanced it. I struggle to say anything bad about this game outside of there's not more it. I fell in love with this world, it's characters and how its not afraid to let you be the biggest bastard the plane has ever seen. Its sense of humour is great from the writing to the slapstick gameplay of throwing a gnome (die gnomes) into another gnome and watching them both die. I've played this game start to finish in multiplayer more than once and both times were some of the most fun I've ever had on a game, what other game lets you kill an entire race of goblins and stuff them all into chest for safekeeping? Overall an absolutely incredible experience, as close to a 10 as you can

I seem to be in the rare minority of people who just can't get into this game. Nearly 40 hours put into the game and I can't get through the first Act, not because of difficulty, but because I just don't like the characters or the story enough to care about any of it. The writing for character interactions feels like a mix of horny teen Tumblr blog and the Witcher TV show after Cavill left. Everything about this game just feels like the same "Trying to be Hollywood" spectacle chasing that the AAA game industry has been doing for years, and it is a full miss for me. There are no aspects of the game that I found enjoyable enough to push past the first Act, and I wish I could refund it since I will never finish it. Plenty of other people have a very different opinion and experience with the game than I do though, so take my complete disdain and distaste for BG3 with a grain of salt. All in all, if you like D&D 5e, you may like this game, though I'd recommend Solasta: Crown of the Magister for a better D&D-esque experience.

After trying the game for a second time, I still have no idea what is supposed to be fun about it. I can't stand the graphics, character creation is terrible, dialogue is crap, most characters can be boiled down to "Look at me, I'm so edgy, isn't it cool how edgy I am?", the combat system is a complete slog, animation quality is one of the worst i ever saw, the UI design is the same as original sin... in other words annoying, and the story is just not that interesting it's cool that people like this game I guess, but I finished hundreds of games and played thousands. If you want a cool rpg that lasts 50+ hours you're better off looking at pathfinder kingmaker / wrath of the righteous, xenoblade chronicles, digimon story cyber sleuth / time stranger, hundred line, crosscode, final fantasy (any of them), sea of stars, or disco elysium. EDIT: because some people have reading comprehension of a goldfish and are too butthurt when someone criticises their "perfect" game, let me expand on this review a lot more I guess. The way to describe Baldur's Gate 3 would be that the game is very, very wide, but also incredibly shallow. And I honestly think if Larian had about half the budget an

Got this when it released in 2023 but waited a few years before actually playing it. Tbh the community was a little too crazy and hella lewd for me back then, which kinda turned me off the game. I also don’t like trend-hopping, so I prefer experiencing stuff after the hype dies down. Played it in 2026 and honestly… it’s great. Easily the best game I’ve played this year. Love the amount of detail, different races, fighting styles and how much freedom you have. The romance/spicy stuff is completely optional too. My only real negative is the companions. I only genuinely enjoyed 2 of them. The others felt a bit fruity and boringly written interaction-wise, although their lore was interesting. Definitely coming back someday to try the other routes.

Nice game. Lots of replayability. Lots of fun. Lots of romance. Lots of action.

Honestly, I've had this game since release and I just can't with it. All of the characters are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cringe I cannot stand the story long enough to make it past the first act. It's like being stuck with a bunch of hypersexual theater kids all doing amateur auditions and thinking they're killing it. I just want to exterminate the entire cast, but then you're stuck with the rest of the world...and way less content. I hate how literally everyone in the party has to be "the special." It wasn't even this bad in Divinity Original Sin 2. I think this is why I never got into dnd, it's soooo bad. We need more bullying in highschool.

I'd just like to point out that I have never played D&D, so how the game worked was all new to me, which took a bit to understand but once you get the hang of it, it's fine. This game's RPG elements are quite amazing, the level of customisation you can have with multi-classing, feats, ability scores etc. You can basically make whatever sort of character you like. The biggest thing that I enjoyed about this game was the insane amounts of depth with the story and characters, like you just have no idea what sort of ramifications each dialogue option may incur which at times can be a bit annoying if you realise when it's too late that suddenly you can't get this item or character etc, but that just encourages you to try another run through and try out a different route. However the biggest thing that frustrated me was some of the bugs were quite painful and if you hadn't "savescummed" then your autosave could be 30, 40, 1hr, 2hrs behind which can be pretty frustrating and potentially make you want to give up. I also realised with all the bugs I encountered that there wasn't many updates being pushed out to fix them. As of this review, there has only been 1 minor hotfix which incl
