Overview

WARDOGS is a TACTICAL ALL OUT WARFARE FPS where one hundred players split across three teams fight over the control zone. Set in the derelict industrial mountains of Eastern Europe on a destructible battlefield where teamwork pays and cash is king.

WARDOGS is an All-Out Warfare FPS that combines tactical gunplay and combined arms combat with building and destruction mechanics in a large-scale, up to 100-player militaristic sandbox. The game mode - Inspired by ‘King of the Hill’ - has three teams fight for control of randomized 2x2km ‘Control Zones’ within larger maps. The team with the most players within the Control Zone earns points - the first team to reach 100 points wins the match. The variables in zone location and individual player tactics mean no match ever plays out the same. In WARDOGS – Every. Decision. Matters. Every player starts their journey with $10,000. Each life, you purchase a custom loadout from a wide selection of weapons, gear, utility, and vehicles to help your team win the match. Every teamplay action you perform rewards cash. From reviving squadmates, transporting friendlies to the zone, or controlling the

The game was great, until they decided to switch anti-cheat last minute that does not run through Proton. This after the devs said they aim to get the game running over Proton. And even showing themselves playing it on a Steam Deck. Then allowing players to test it during beta where it ran flawlessly over Proton. This last second AC change was not communicated and handled very poorly by the devs. Even to the point of adding an empty Linux version to Steam, which would just wipe your files if you pre-loaded. Or make you download an empty game while on Linux. For devs which boast their communication with the community, this aspect was handled terribly. Game at the time of writing does not run on Linux, even though certain sources that devs control such as SteamDB show that it does.

Great game, but i miss colorblind mode.... i cant join the red team, since i cant see the red when running in a green environment. I would love if there was a way for me to change the colors of the teams. I have killed so many friendlies :C EDIT: Wow, seems my review got a lot more traction than i thought it would, some people even tracking my hours played..... So for all the people salty, a quick clarification: I do like the game, it is original and it has me hooked. The different mechanics are great and i love the variaty of "Jobs" you can do, so there is never a dull moment. The reason i gave it a negative review is because it is the only way to actually get the devs attention. A positive review with a complaint buried in it gets read by no one. And the issue is real, i am unable to play the red team, because i can not see the red icon above people's head when they are in a green envirement, which happens a lot. That is not a small thing, that is a whole team i can not play. I found that out by killing a lot of friendlies. And yes, 30 minutes. That is how long it took me to notice i could not tell friend from enemy. I do not need 200 hours to figure out something i ran int

Letting certain players disable shadows has a direct effect on visibility and gameplay. Shadows in this game dictate how the environment is read and allow for some amount of concealment. If one player has normal shadows while another can basically remove them, the second player could be able to spot someone sitting in a dark window or shaded position 200m away when they should normally be obscured. This gives an actual competitive advantage. If the setting is considered too unfair for everyone to use, then it shouldn't be acceptable just because someone has old or weak hardware. They should either design a low settings that preserves roughly the same visibility for everyone, or else raise the minimum requirements. The game shouldn't compromise competitive consistency for the majority of players just to accommodate a small amount of systems that are far below modern standards. I feel the same way about the potential secure boot + TPM requirements. At some point supporting extremely old hardware starts negatively affecting everyone else. Most likely whatever benchmark gate they have put in place for the setting will be avoidable. I played rocket littlebird last playtest for most o

After swapping to Elytra anti-cheat, the game does not run on Linux And it causes BSOD on Windows upon launching SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Game has polish and a bunch of mechanics that work well together with the exception of a broken build + objective system combo that drags EVERYTHING down like a black hole. FoBs aren't overpowered so much as frustrating and boring. There's a huge, fun and well designed map. But 99% of your playtime will be focused around the same copy-paste tower with the same square FoB base underneath hiding a spawn vehicle that pours bodies into a meat grinder of endless mortar shells. If you're lucky there might occasionally be a super FoB built around a warehouse or a church, but mostly its going to be towers. If the defenders don't get pounded effectively by mortars (and to be clear, that's the only thing that can touch them), they'll eventually build a drill and squat behind their walls while the points tick up. If they do get suppressed, some other team gets a drill and the same thing happens. If the attackers manage to haul enough explosives to breach the FoB, it will be easily patched before the attackers can even reach the battle again. If the attackers manage to completely clear the base, the defenders can come in later and get it fully operational just by dropping a new FoB down. I'

The less you play the objective in WARDOGS, the more you are rewarded. This game has a fundamental problem that is rapidly worsening, each team now just consists of players who do nothing all game but sit inside their F.O.Bs building, mortaring and farming XP and $$, but not actually contributing at all to their team. And the game encourages this playstyle, as an example: I bought a standard loadout ($10,000) and a helicopter ($6000) to get to the front. I brought 5 other people alongside me to attack an enemy FOB. All 6 of us arrived safely, we broke into the enemy base. I personally killed 3 enemies, assisted on 2 more, destroyed an enemy drill (an expensive structure) and captured the FOB. MY TOTAL PROFIT: $-2892. A very impactful life, I led a team and destroyed an enemy base contributing massively to a win AND I LOST MONEY LMAO. I could have just sat inside a FOB afk and made more.

Perfect middle ground if you're tired of Arma and Battlefield. It's not as arcadey as Battlefield and not as hardcore as Arma. Devs are listening to players and care about what people have to say. Community is great too. Genuinely the most fun I've had in an fps game since 2018 Tarkov.

Honestly I don't know what all the hype was about, It has some decent aspects as roles you play, but for me its just not doing it, Its a game that will defiantly not be for everyone, call it skill or whatever, but I agree with most, the loop, buy your gear, ride into the circle most likely will crash or die before you even get into action and when you do finally get there, sniped by a guy through a wall, I literally had that happen yesterday, and don't get me started on the spam of the op mortars that basically are like a sniper rifle, once they hit the spot they just spam it until the base is rubble, with no risk, good luck finding it or even taking it down, maybe it will improve, I'm sick of these YouTube streamers hyping things up that are really not that good at all, I get it they advertise for them, enough rant, check it out, just remember you wont get a refund because its early access.
