Overview

Join dangerous raids for loot or intense PvP battles in this new realistic military shooter set in a fractured multiverse. Fight in the quantum unstable zones over control of the active matter – the substance that bends time and space.

You’re an operative stuck in a time loop, always brought back from the dead to the same point. Choose your loadout and enter quantum unstable zones rich with active matter – the most valuable and the most dangerous resource in all multiverse. Fight against rivals from other timelines, survive physics-breaking anomalies and try to stay alive. Harvest active matter, gather loot and extract to a safe place before the whole zone ceases to exist with everything inside it. Active matter changes things and bends space and time, so you might encounter operatives and other survivors that lost their mind and humanity after exposure to this substance. Other players, though, would always be your most dangerous enemy. Expand your syndicate base, upgrade your arsenal and participate in fierce battles between syndicates over the key sources of active matter, as they’re your only chance to break out of

No alpha/beta wipe on release of the game?? Ran 1 raid and got killed by a Chinese hacker that was max level less than an hour after release. There was also over 300 max ranked characters by the time I uninstalled and refunded. Dont buy.

They didn't do a FULL reset for the Steam launch, terrible decision. As a result newcomers will get stomped 24/7 by fully kitted experienced vets. Veteran players who've been playing Active Matter for a whole year on the external launcher version will have huge advantages over newbies because of the permanent skill tree perks, things like better healing, faster movement and higher jump height for examples among other advantages. Avoid this game unless you want to get stomped by nolifers who've been grinding this mediocre game for many months. With that said, let's talk about my brief experience with Active Matter. I quickly realized I was playing a broken mess of a game the moment I got softlocked in the intro mission because I rebinded the interact key and couldn't interact with the monolith. Off to a great start but I continued playing regardless. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3802046715 It didn't take long to see that the gameplay in Active Matter is not really good, movements and gunplay all feels like a basic Unreal Engine asset flip even though they are using their open source Dagor Engine. For some reasons we can't even disable the insane camera

The main game mode feels like the game director was replaced two months before the CBT and the new guy said: “Alright, let’s put PvP in here.” Unfortunately, the constant roof-camping and spawn-camping meta have very little to do with the original vision of completing missions, investigating locations, extracting, and eventually wiping your progress in exchange for bonuses. The people who drove away casual players by playing this way are then the same ones complaining that PvP is full of bots. At the moment, PvP basically comes down to two options: you either complete your missions in 3 minutes and extract, or stay on the map for 30 minutes and kill everyone. Things have been slowly improving over the two years of Early Access, but when the core gameplay loop is poorly designed, it’s hard to get much out of it. There have been various experiments to address this, such as the recent HQ event where the entire map was PvE and only certain locations were designated as PvP zones. That was actually an interesting solution to the problem. There is also a PvE-only mode that shares most of its maps with the main mode, but unfortunately, in an attempt to keep PvP players satisfied, the mo

Gaijin-made trash. 3 Editions to purchase. 5 currencies. UI in Alpha state. The game doesn't know what it wants to be and nothing it's trying works great. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ level design. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemy design. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, all in all. The fact that they dare to ask money for this Free 2 Play level trash of a game is mind boggling. But hey, it's Gaijin.

I dont know man, feels weird, clunky gameplay and movement, feels very very inclined towards pay to win where you get better loot AFTER you exit every raid based on the edition you have, such practices are just scummy through and through... I dont know really, sitting here contemplating wether i should refund it or not...

This game is amazing. I played it for the first 30minutes and I already refunded it. I would recommend 100%

Really fun little game, like tarkov, but less tarkovy in a way. Been playing since early 2025. 10/10 would recommend.

Been playing for about 6 months on the early access side and appart from the ui being objectivly hard to understand at first there is nothing i can say thats bad about this game. The setting and universe are well made the gun play is great and the progression feels satisfying. Pve being an option (for free as well unlike some other competitor) is great. The game runs GREAT even on my lower end pc. The updates are always significant and well comunicated and the devs are highly active on the social medias. Feedback is actually listened to (example: Before the release they gave the update to the early access 2 week prior and did in the span for 2 weeks 11 updates adressing everything from bugs to UI to reward balancing ect) For me this game is a great extraction shooter that deserves its rather honest 30 euro pricetag.
