unfinished, unoptimized games being released as a full product is getting old.

WHEN 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE LEADS BACKWARDS I really love asymmetrical horror games. I played almost every single one that was available on the market, so I can easily accept that a game will have bugs, glitches, balance issues or clunky animations at launch. Friday had them. DbD had them. Almost every asym game had them, and still have. YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER BY NOW, RIGHT? IllFonic and Gun have been making on asymmetrical multiplayer games for almost a decade now. Friday the 13th, Predator, Killer Klowns, Ghostbusters, Texas,... these developers know this genre and us, players pretty well. They know how these games work and know what players expect from them. So when a game released in 2026 feels worse in many aspects than F13 from 2017, I think players have every right to ask what the f* happened?! And no, "the game just released bro" or "go back to the fog then" is not a good excuse. They are selling us a full AA priced game, not a beta. I EXPECTED BETTER Back in 2016 I was an early kickstarter backer for F13 during its development. I supported Illfonic and Gun because I believed in the idea behind it, and despite all of its bugs, clunky movement, weird animations

*LONG TEXT WARNING* TLDR for those who won't read: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. THIS GAME DOESN'T HAVE A SINGLE WORKING FEATURE. STOP NOW. Let's start with the PROS of this game because there aren't a lot: -The game runs DECENTLY "well" -It looks pretty good -Menu UI is passable CONS: - Goals are incomprehensible (How do you even win in multiplayer?) -Somehow the game has a "MICHAEL HAS ESCAPED" prompt in multiplayer (>?????) -Collisions are unecessary, bugged and make the gameplay infernal -Interactables are completely bugged (window jumps, call the police prompts) -Voices are absolute garbage and are also bugged -The point system has such a poor design that it's intuitively impossible to tell what to do and what NOT to do -The audio design is garbage. You cannot hear the killer walk, peoples voice lines are out of sync and the overall audio hierarchy is way off. -The police/AI doesn't make any logical sense and even when you have ten cops shooting at michael, he suffers ZERO drawback and INSTEAD he GAINS points, for killing MORE of those officers. -The story is garbage, the voice acting is LAUGHABLE, at this point WE are BEGGING for AI voices because this is a tragedy. The dirrec

This is a bit of a hard review for me. However, I feel as though I am obligated to write it as a fan of both Halloween and John Carpenter's works and a big fan of asymmetrical horror games. So let me just get the context down. I have played DBD since launch. I have played every asymmetrical horror game that has released. Despite loving DBD, it NEEDS a competitor in the ring. A monopoly on a genre does no one good save for the distributor's wallet. I want this to be that competitor. GOD do I want it to be that competitor. It's everything I wanted from a asym horror title: Halloween, Myers, a more sandbox experience than DBD's very gameified killer/survivor loop. However, I just can't be certain this is it. Let me go over what it does well, and what it does poorly. Pros: -Lovely visuals -Fun violence that keeps the slasher spirit without crossing over into something that makes your eyes roll -A pretty interesting gameplay loop that isn't just "fix X objective and then go to Y gate" and allows for some on the fly planning. -Myers feels authentic. -A decently okay story mode for you to get a hang of the mechanics. And now, the cons: -The game runs like ♥♥♥♥. That being said, this is

It looked fun but it's full of bugs, janky animations, poorly optimized and not worth the $40 price tag with the current state it's in.

EDIT: OKAY it is BETTER BUT THIS IS STILL NOT FIXED - PRESTIGE - And now cant see results after a game? - NEED TO ADD SOME VOTE TO END MATCH FEATURE; micheals leave and then you gotta wait until the game ends by time to get all exp and perk points? 9/8/26 - LOVED THE GAME, but needs to work on major bugs!! - invisible michael . . . - the NPCs you have to save, will stop moving and you have to physically push them to through the escape. WHICH THE WHOLE POINT IS FOR YOU TO SAVE THEM. HARD TO SAVE THEM WHEN THEY DONT MOVE. - the haddon field map never works for me, the npc's ALWAYS break on that map. - prestige says I have to complete current challenge, but I have no challenge selected and I can not buy a new one. - Constantly have to restart the game because it will not let my friends and I join off each other sometimes? Dont know why. Really like the game but it is so broken.

Things more terrifying than Michael Myers: 3. The animations 2. The bugs 1. My FPS Underneath the terrible frame rates and janky animations, there is a genuinely fun asymmetrical horror game hiding here. But frankly, I'm tired of paying full price to be Gun and IllFonic's QA tester for an Early Access build disguised as a full release. Fix the performance, and you'll have a decent game. Until then, wait for a big sale.

This seems like a great game. Its unfortunate that its incredibly unoptimized, and will force UE5 raytracing/Lumen even if you turn it off. This is dumb. optimize your game, this should not be an issue, ever.
