I've been playing Stardew Valley for years, and recently came back to it again. Despite having hundreds of hours, I still haven't achieved all that much, and honestly, I think that's part of why I love it. Over the past few years, my mental and physical health have deteriorated a lot. I spend most of my days inside and often feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and lacking the energy or motivation to do much of anything. I've stopped playing many of the bigger games I used to love because I feel too much pressure to perform or finish them. But Stardew is different. There's nothing I have to do. I can just play at my own pace. I recently started a new save, and all I'm doing is planting and harvesting crops. For a few hours every night, I zone out, farm, and listen to a podcast. It's simple, peaceful, and genuinely comforting. I can't thank ConcernedApe enough for creating this game, continuing to improve it, and giving so many people a little place to escape to. 100/10. 1,000/10. 1,000,000/10. Stay safe, stay healthy, keep farming, keep fishing, and keep enjoying Stardew. And remember: staying up until 3 AM watering 47 parsnips isn't a problem. It's farm management. The Junimos underst

Cute little game about building a farm, living life, and gradually dating everyboy in town.

I can't stop playing this game. And now I need someone who wants to play with me for hours. I spend around 6 hours in Stardew Valley, no kidding. Even though I haven't played it since I know its existence. People used to recommended me Stardew Valley for years and now I finally tried this game. People were right, it's never too late to give it an opportunity.

A Cozy Game I Keep Coming Back To Stardew Valley is easily one of my favourite games, and the fact that I own it on Xbox, Switch, and Steam probably says everything. My genuine playtime would be in the thousands😅. I began following this game before it was even greenlit on Steam and the fact ConcernedApe worked on it solo? He achieved what most never can. I doubted it would ever get out of the development stage but when it finally did I can safely say he blew away every expectation I had. I would say this game is genre defining. There’s something incredibly relaxing about the freedom this game gives you. You can farm, fish, explore the mines, build relationships, complete the Community Center, or just spend the day doing absolutely nothing productive. There’s always something to work towards, but it never feels like the game is rushing you. The characters, soundtrack, pixel art, and attention to detail make Stardew Valley feel genuinely special. Every playthrough somehow becomes its own little story, and there are so many small discoveries that keep me coming back. I was a huge fan of Harvest Moon, starting with the very first on SNES and this game delivers the same feeling of n

I love this game because you have free will, theres no path carved in stone. You can do so many things and make your own little goals. This game makes me feel productive even though im lazy, its almost like a slice of life style game.

seems fun, but the fact that I have to use some type of addon just to make the day length tolerably longer just kills it for me, I know it's a popular farm sim game, I wanted to like it, just like I tried to like The Greatful Dead, but no matter how many times I listened, I just couldn't get myself to like "jam" bands. stasrdew valley is like that for me.

Extremely repetitive, boring, lifeless and unrewarding. Once you pass the first summer youve seen all the game has to offer and everything else feels like filler. It's probably a great game for some but for me it feels like a waste of time that drains my energy and is far too stressful for a "cozy farming game". Oh and NPCs feel incredibly lifeless ill write a proper in depth review once i complete the game

The Ship of Theseus is a thought experiment about whether an object is the same object after having all of its original components replaced with others over time. It is also an incredibly fitting paradox for my feelings towards Stardew Valley. I always thought I dislike farming games. As it turns out, farming games were never the issue, Stardew Valley was. I am usually the type of gamer that wants a game to keep as much of its original aesthetic as possible and usually refrain from using any gameplay overhauls so I can honour the original creator(s). This was entirely impossible for me when it comes to Stardew. Frankly, I think the artstyle is atrocious and the gameplay is much more stressful than relaxing, especially when you play the multiplayer version of it. Cutscenes neither stop time nor do you have the possibility to slow down the passage of time in a day, meaning that you have to plan ahead whether you want to socialise or grind to make grandpa happy. This often meant that my co-op player had to do all the farming and grinding while I played my own little social sim. My pixelated neighbours also didn't really draw me in - at best, I can say I liked Sebastian (how origina
